bridge

One of our courses in school tasked us to form groups to design and create a load bearing bridge spanning 5m from end to end. My teammates and I were inspired by Japanese wood working and wanted to design and build a bridge that only utilized wooden joints, not requiring any screws.

We initially build a scaled down version as a prototype and tweaked it along the way to achieve our final result. During the showcase, each bridge had to be tested for its load bearing structure and with our own weight supporting the bridge at the two ends we were able to succesfully pass the load bearing test and even have one of our teammates cross over.
